JOBB

EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

Software Engineer within Automotive

LUND

Dela jobbet

Want to build automotive software where correctness, timing, and safety matter? Join technically demanding projects in ADAS, electrification, and connected vehicles.

You will develop embedded software for systems with complex interactions and strict requirements for performance, reliability, and functional safety. The work is hands-on, with opportunities to influence architecture, design decisions, and technical direction.

Depending on the assignment, you may:

  • develop safety-critical embedded software in C and C++

  • work close to the operating system using RTOS, Linux, or QNX

  • debug and optimize systems with critical timing and resource constraints

  • collaborate with systems engineers, testers, and hardware teams to ensure end-to-end functionality

  • contribute to software architecture, technical decisions, testing, and quality assurance

Many assignments involve AUTOSAR and ASPICE, where traceability, testing, and structured quality processes are integral to development.

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • several years of experience in embedded software development or automotive software

  • solid knowledge of C and C++

  • a strong understanding of embedded systems and low-level behavior

  • experience working with RTOS, Linux, QNX, or a similar environment

  • the ability to communicate technical tradeoffs and collaborate across software, systems, testing, and hardware disciplines

Preferred qualifications

Experience with AUTOSAR, ASPICE, automotive communication protocols, or tools from Vector is valuable. Knowledge of Rust is also a plus.

Fluency in Swedish is beneficial for some assignments.

What can you expect from us?

You will work on technically challenging assignments that allow you to deepen your expertise, influence technical direction, and continue growing as an engineer. Rather than working alone in customer projects, you will have opportunities to join teams with experienced colleagues in embedded and automotive systems.

A close local team provides day-to-day support and knowledge sharing, while Knowit’s broader network connects you with expertise across technologies and industries.
